A sad day for Port with the passing of a great family and club man

It is with deep regret, a lump in my throat, and a few tears in my eyes, that I have to inform the big family of Stockport Rugby Club, that we lost one of our family members very suddenly & tragically on Friday night 14th June.

Julian Lewis-Booth passed away on Friday evening. Far too early in life, at only 55 years young.

He was a top bloke, a great clubman, fantastic father to James & Alex & loving husband to Nikki.
He was an intelligent, successful, businessman and a great sponsor over many years for our club, whether it be shirts, shorts, advertising hoardings etc from Stephenson’s family business.

He played for us for many years. Always giving 100% both on the field & off it.

He had the pleasure of playing with both sons together – what a special father/son experience. The Lewis-Booth Front Row.

I’m lost for words, but I am honoured to have known him for about 16/17 years. You always had a laugh with him. We were at Tottenham for the “Heineken” Cup Final weekend only 3 weeks ago, the only guy I’ve ever heard say when ordering a round – “any chance of a cup of tea” that will always stick with me.

Julian has enhanced everybody’s life who have been luckily enough to meet him. He never had a bad word to say about anyone .

On behalf of everyone at SRUFC we send our sincere condolences to Nikki, James & Alex especially, Henry his brother, & Michael his father, and all the family & friends for their sad loss.

RIP mate

Sadly lost – but certainly, never forgotten!!
